Drama in Hackney for over 50 years

Important Notice

The last couple of years have been difficult ones for the group.

We were unable to meet at Morland Hall due to the Covid pandemic although we did manage to present a zoom production of 'A Christmas Carol'.
However, since resuming meetings earlier this year, attendance has been low and we no longer have enough people with the skill mix to allow us to put on a production.

Following a meeting on Monday 4th July 2022 it was regretfully decided to wind up the group.
Over the years the group has collected costumes, props, lighting and sound equipment and we are planning to donate these to not for profit and amateur drama groups and organisations.

We will be holding an open day on Saturday September 3rd at 2.00pm where anyone interested may come along and inspect what's on offer.
If you know or are involved with a group that may be interested and want to know more Click Here to email for more details. Updates will be found on this website.

Finally, may we say thank you to all who have supported us over the years. Let us hope it is not good-bye but only Au revoir!

The Hackney Players has been around since 1970 during which time we have put on over 200 productions ranging from Greek melodrama and thrillers to comedy, pantomime and music hall.

We are a small group of about 20 people and we meet at 7.30 on most Mondays (and on Thursdays when we are rehearsing) at.
