The Hackney Players is now in its fortieth year and during that time has put on over 100 productions ranging from Greek melodrama and thrillers to comedy, pantomime and music hall.
We have performed in various halls and theatres in both Hackney and other boroughs, but our principal home which we have used over the years has been Summit Estate Hall in Stamford Hill. Here, we have had meetings, stored costumes and scenery, rehearsed and performed the majority of our productions over the years.
The Hall is Hackney Council property and for the past 5 years we have had a lease to use the hall however, over the years the building has not worn well and is now in need of extensive repairs. Following an inspection, the building may no longer be used for public performances and coupled with the expiry of our lease we are, with regret, having to leave Summit hall.
However we are delighted to announce that following discussions with Hackney Council we have the the use of the Morland Community Hall, Gayhurst Road, E8 3EN. We will be using the hall for rehearsals and productions and are now meeting at Morland hall every Monday at 8.00pm. We are looking at plays and preparing for our season, so, if you are interested in acting, directing, helping backstage or just finding out what we do why not pay us a visit? You can contact us by e-mail

Over the years we have amassed quite a collection of costumes, props and scenery which we will be unable to take with us when we move so we are having a clear out. If are interested in what's available Click Here
